Late last week, we sent Mrs. Insane out to cover the 2014 Chef & Brew Festival. She returned with a full stomach, a camera full of pictures, and the mouth-watering aroma of fine food woven into the fabric of her clothes. Mission accomplished. Hope you enjoy her take on this year’s event.

The EXDO Event Center in Denver’s RiNo district has become a hot spot for numerous great beer festivals in Denver.  Last Thursday’s Chef & Brew Festival, hosted by BeerCraving.com was no exception. Denver’s best chef’s teamed up with some of the state’s top breweries to stuff the bellies of foodies and beer connoisseurs alike.

My personal pick for best pairing was TRVE’s Scorn, a Dry-Hopped Pale Wheat Beer, paired with Green Curry with Blood Sausage from The Squeaky Bean. Pub 17 served up my favorite dish of the night, a Chicken Fried Oyster Shooter with Smoked Tomato and Habanero Remoulade, followed closely by Lou’s Food Bar’s Hot Chicken with Black-eyed Pea Salad. My favorite pour of the night was Crooked Stave’s Autumn Surette, a beer that could have easily been paired with numerous dishes throughout the festival. Thanks to all the breweries, and chefs, the staff from Beer Craving, and Mr. Insane for allowing me to attend one of Denver’s top festivals.
